Dear Delegates and Faculty Advisors,

It is my distinct pleasure to invite you to the inaugural session of the Ivy League Model United Nations Conference Vietnam, hosted by the International Affairs Association of the University of Pennsylvania (IAA). For the past fifty-four years, our mission at the International Affairs Association has been to foster interest in diplomacy and global affairs at Penn and beyond. Following the success of our various global initiatives, ILMUNC India, China and Peru, we hope to expand the horizon of IAA's legacy and provide students in Vietnam and abroad with the opportunity to be immersed in an intellectual environment and explore international affairs, this May 24th through 27th, 2018 in Hanoi, Vietnam. Our Secretariat has been working tirelessly in the past year to prepare for the conference, and I can assure you that ILMUNC Vietnam I will be an enjoyable experience, both inside and outside of committee, that you will  never forget.

At ILMUNC Vietnam I, delegates will not only be provided with the opportunity to partake in exciting and intense debates on the current state of global affairs, but also the perfect environment to interact and cooperate with each other in finding solutions to some of the world’s most complex problems. We are very excited to simulate 5 unique committees with unique topics of debate, ranging from the large General Assembly 1 DISEC, to mid-size ECOSOCs never before seen in Vietnam such as COPUOS and UNFPA, and to fast-paced crisis committees like UNSC and Designated Survivor. Newbies or veterans to Model UN, ILMUNC Vietnam is a place where there is a committee suited to every delegate's interests and experience.

Our conference would not be fulfilled without the delegate social experience. Outside of committee, our social events aim to create an opportunities for delegates and chairs to bond through cultural immersion as well as 1-1 mentoring session with some of the brightest students at the University of Pennsylvania. ILMUNC Vietnam goes beyond just 4 days of exciting debate - it is a place where friendships are formed and cultures converge.

The ILMUNC Vietnam Secretariat and I cannot wait to welcome you to our conference, and we are beyond ecstatic to open up a new chapter and create history, this May 24th-27th, in Hanoi, Vietnam.
