August 30th-September 1st, 2019
It is my distinct pleasure to invite you to the second session of the Ivy League Model United Nations Conference Vietnam, hosted by the International Affairs Association of the University of Pennsylvania (IAA) and co-hosted with MUN Inc. The University of Pennsylvania is an Ivy League institution and the oldest University in the United States. It is home to the number one ranked business school, the Wharton School, among other award-winning schools and programs. For the past fifty-five years, our mission at the International Affairs Association has been to foster interest in diplomacy and global affairs at Penn and beyond. The Ivy League Model United Nations Conference is one of the most reputed high school conferences in the United States, bringing over 3000 delegates from across the globe for a unique, academic, social, and cultural experience.
Following the 35-year success of ILMUNC, as well as our various global initiatives, ILMUNC India, China and Peru, we are excited to expand our reach to ILMUNC Vietnam and had our first iteration in May 2018. We are delighted to announce our partnership with MUN Inc. for ILMUNC Vietnam II this year. MUN Inc. is a leading education provider, and together we are more committed than ever to providing students in Vietnam and abroad with the opportunity to explore various global issues in a unique environment, this May 23rd through 26th, 2019 in Hanoi, Vietnam.
At ILMUNC Vietnam II, delegates will not only be provided with the opportunity to partake in exciting and intense debates on the current state of global affairs, but also the perfect environment to interact and cooperate with each other in finding solutions to some of the world’s most complex problems. We are very excited to simulate 4 unique committees with engaging topics of debate, ranging from the large General Assembly 1 DISEC, to midsize ECOSOCs such as WHO, and to fast-paced crisis committees like UNSC, all run by some of the most experience staffers and debaters in the world. Newbies or veterans to Model UN, ILMUNC Vietnam has a committee suited to your interests and experience
Our conference is not just limited within the bounds of committee session. Outside of committee, we aim to provide delegates an opportunity to develop themselves personally and professionally. This will be facilitated through a college application workshop and a university life panel discussion, led by some of the brightest and most involved University of Pennsylvania students. Our experienced committee directors flying in from Penn have a diverse range of majors, interests, schools, and backgrounds, and will act as mentors for delegates in and out of committee. ILMUNC Vietnam goes beyond just 4 days of exciting debate - it is a place where lifelong friendships are formed and cultures converge.
The ILMUNC Vietnam Secretariat and I cannot wait to welcome you to our conference, and we are beyond ecstatic to open up a new chapter and foster our legacy, this May 23rd-26th, in Hanoi, Vietnam
Bhurichaya (Proud) Tuksinwarajarn
Secretary-General, ILMUNC Vietnam II
